Issues Forum

The Alliance National Critical Issues Forum is a biennial event which convenes current and emerging hospital system, transplant, OPO, and physician/surgical leaders to convene for a collaborative discussion, identifying strategies for increasing organ donation and transplantation.

The 2022 National Critical Issues Forum, held September 15-16, 2022 in Orlando, convened current and emerging leaders to explore the regulatory shifts, economic challenges, staffing pressures, and our need to incorporate novel technical innovations into organ donation and transplantation practices. A principal objective of this forum was to provide participants with the necessary skills to turn challenges into opportunities and adverse or challenging environments into performance improvement endeavors.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize opportunities to create positive change and the strategies associated with performance improvement.
  • Develop strategies that lead to organizational success with respect to finance, access, and logistics.
  • Identify and implement effective and resilient processes associated with sustained development and optimal performance.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the continuous distribution model and the resulting impact on internal and external practices.
  • Describe the evolution of technological innovation in DCD recoveries, perfusion technologies, and other advanced solutions to identify how best to incorporate these innovations into organizational practice.

Nursing: The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance is offering 11.0 hours of continuing education credit for this offering, approved by The California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP17117. No partial credits will be awarded. CE credit will be issued upon request within 30 days post-forum.

CEPTC: The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance will be offering 11.0 Category I CEPTC credits from the American Board for Transplant Certification. Certified clinical transplant and procurement coordinators and certified clinical transplant nurses seeking CEPTC credit must complete the evaluation form within 30 days of the event.

CME: AdventHealth Tampa is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. AdventHealth Tampa designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.0 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
