The Alliance is proud to announce the launch of an on-demand Learning Pathway for its popular “Foundational Perspectives of Organ Donation” course. This innovative resource is designed to cater to the educational needs of early-career healthcare professionals involved in the organ donation process.

What is the Foundational Perspectives of Organ Donation Program?

Originally developed as a live introductory course by field experts, the Foundational Perspectives of Organ Donation course is well known for providing a comprehensive exploration of the organ donation process, specifically tailored for multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Now, with the introduction of the on-demand Learning Pathway, The Alliance offers more convenient access for early-career OPO professionals, critical care providers, residents, fellows, nurses, respiratory therapists, advanced clinicians, and current or potential donation champions.

The Learning Pathway leverages custom video content, literature and quizzes to deliver a thorough overview of the comprehensive organ donation process, and covers crucial aspects like clinical, legal, and administrative considerations. Participants will gain insights into healthcare partnerships and learn about the intricate dynamics involved in patient-family interactions. Completion of the course carries 5.25 hours of Nursing, CME and CEPTC credit.

“This Learning Pathway is a major step forward in our mission to provide valuable education to professionals in the field of organ donation,” said Corey Bryant, Senior Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives at The Alliance. “We understand the importance of convenience in the learning process, especially for those at the forefront of patient care. Our new on-demand Learning Pathway format allows us to achieve this goal more effectively.”

  • The Need for Organ, Eye and Tissue Donors
  • The Donation and Transplantation System
