The Alliance to Host One-Day Virtual Forum Exploring The Future of Organs for Transplant

The Organ Donation and Transplantation Alliance (The Alliance) is set to host the 2024 National Innovation Forum: The Future of Organs for Transplant, a one-day virtual event scheduled for April 30, 2024. This forum aims to explore evolving and alternative therapies to traditional human donor organ transplants.

Examining a broad landscape of scientific and technological advancement, the forum will convene experts from across the organ donation and transplantation continuum to share insights on the future direction of transplant therapy. Areas of discussion will include:

Clinical Innovations

  • Organ failure prevention
  • Organ regeneration and rehabilitation
  • Cryopreservation
  • Xenotransplantation
  • Decellularization/Recellularization
  • 3D Printing

System-Related Implications

  • The Future of Allocation and Logistics
  • Ethical Considerations
  • Future Business Models of OPOs and Transplant Centers

Led by Planning Chairpersons Susan Stuart (President & CEO, Center for Organ Recovery & Education, PA) and Macey Levan, JD, PhD (Director, Center for Surgical and Transplant Applied Research Qualitative Core – NYU Langone Health), the planning committee brings a wealth of multidisciplinary insight to this event.
